Purchaser / Stock Keeper

THE JOB OF PURCHASER / STOCK KEEPER INVOLVES

  • Monitoring inventory of regularly used materials, parts, and shop items to ensure required supply levels are maintained.
  • Meeting with fleet and maintenance managers and staff to identify gaps, shortages, and future needs.  
  • Sourcing vendors and building excellent working relationships to establish BGT as a priority customer. 
  • Negotiating favorable terms on costs, payments schedules, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintaining the inventory database.
  • Upgrading and innovating to make improvements when possible. 

THIS ONE’S FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience in purchasing, logistics, and /or supply chain management.
  • Experience and knowledge of the trucking, shipping, and/or mining industries.
  • Accounting/inventory management experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Outstanding organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Natural troubleshooting instincts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence, inspire and negotiate. 
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
