THE JOB OF PURCHASER / STOCK KEEPER INVOLVES
- Monitoring inventory of regularly used materials, parts, and shop items to ensure required supply levels are maintained.
- Meeting with fleet and maintenance managers and staff to identify gaps, shortages, and future needs.
- Sourcing vendors and building excellent working relationships to establish BGT as a priority customer.
- Negotiating favorable terms on costs, payments schedules, and delivery schedules.
- Maintaining the inventory database.
- Upgrading and innovating to make improvements when possible.
THIS ONE’S FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE
- Experience in purchasing, logistics, and /or supply chain management.
- Experience and knowledge of the trucking, shipping, and/or mining industries.
- Accounting/inventory management experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Outstanding organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Natural troubleshooting instincts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence, inspire and negotiate.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
